Time to link up with Doodle Bugs Teaching!  It's always fun to do Linky Parties!

It is so cold outside!  Snow is on the way! I'm so glad to wind down on this Friday with a little fire and a nice cup of coffee.  What a long week!  Saturdays are my "Work Free" days.  "Work Free" for school work, but "Work On" at the house!  I have to have one day where I don't do any school work so that I can catch up on other things!
Balance! (aka Balancing Act!)

So inside this sweet little cup is one of my favorite coffees. Are you a coffee connoisseur?
I gave up my favorite, favorite, favorite drink.  I loved the DC. Diet Coke. Drink of Choice.
Lately I've been trying out different kinds and flavors of coffee.  It's interesting and fun to go to the smaller coffee shops around Cincy!
How cute is this?

Now all of this relaxing must be accompanied by a good book!  Here's the book that I've just started!  With all the cold and flu germs swirling around the school, I think I just need all the help I can get to stay healthy.  I hope I have time to finish what I've started!  I've read all of  Dr. Furhman's books and this one looks to be a very interesting read!

Want to know about boosting your immune system by making great nutritional choices?
Check out this book and let me know what you think.

I found a new and interesting website to help my kiddies with a variety of skills!

There are many reading and math activities as well as other learning games for the kids to play!  I'm still working to explore all the games myself but so far, I've found it to be a delightful website for my kiddies!

This week and for the next few weeks I'll be reorganizing my leveled collection and my classroom book collection.  To say that this is a BIG project is an understatement!  I have so many books.  There are bins of books all over my room and it's time to sort them out again!

It's going to be a busy week!

Thanks to Doodle Bugs for hosting this Linky Party!

Have a wonderful week!

Ready for the 2015!

Well, it's time to head back to school tomorrow.  I have to be honest!  I've really enjoyed the winter break for these two weeks and I'm having a hard time motivating myself to get into the groove!  I think this year I've promised myself to do things a little differently!  For the first time in a long time I'm an empty-nester!  I don't really like that but that's where I am!  It's kind of hard to get used to.  For so long I've had little ones at home and teenagers running in and out but now it's kind of quiet.  Too quiet!  Don't get me wrong, quiet is okay sometimes, it's just different than what I'm used to having at home!
So I've picked up another Spinning class and I've resolved to exercise EVERY SINGLE day.  I think that might also help me to lower my stress level!  Stress?  You probably don't have any stress either. LOL!  It will also help me to lose a few pounds.  That will be nice!

I did make a new homework packet for my classroom kiddies and it's available on TpT.  Here's the cover.  There are reading and writing activities and math activities as well.  Each homework activity is a half page and is the packet is print ready so that it's easy to copy and give out to your kiddies!

The other thing I want to do this year is work a little harder to make this blog better!  I have some good ideas for things I want to post and I'm going to do that in 2015!  Thanks for taking the time to visit!  I hope you have a great start to your new year!

My Funny Little Gingerbread House!

You know that this is the time of year to read about the Gingerbread Man and all the Gingers in his family.  So I thought that it would be fun to make a gingerbread house again this year, with my kiddies and then use it as a behavior incentive!  If the kiddies have a great day in school, they get to put on one piece of candy each day to make the house very beautiful! It's coming together and we have a few more days to decorate!  The kiddies are very motivated to decorate this little house and I'm excited to help them stay on track with good behavior!

Have a great week and enjoy the holidays!

Pumpkin, Pumpkin, What's Inside the Pumpkin? A Happy Little Science Experiment

Today was a great day to do science experiments with a fall pumpkin!  We weighed and measured our pumpkin.  We also measured the circumference of our pumpkin with a cool piece of yarn!  I offered a differentiated response sheet for my two groups so that I could meet the needs of one group and challenge the other group.

When I pulled the goop and seeds out of the pumpkin, my kiddies were making faces and saying, "Ewwwww!!"  When I sent the top around for the kiddies to examine, they were laughing and saying, "Wow!  It smells good!  It's such a pretty color! It's slimy on my fingers!"

They really had a lot of fun and a ton of learning going on this morning in Room A-1!  Tomorrow, we'll plant the seeds so that we can grow another pumpkin plant!  We'll also work to discover if a different pumpkin will sink or float!

Thanks, stay in touch and have a great Thursday!

Say A Little Prayer For The Copier!

Hey all!
Sorry I've been out of touch for a little while!  I was a little overloaded with school and planning my youngest daughter's wedding!  It was a beautiful event and my part is finished so I'm trying to get back to normal  ---- whatever that means!! LOL!!

One of my friends at school snapped this funny picture of me in the copy room at school recently!  I have an interest (actually a small obsession really!)  in fixing the copy machine when it goes down because I think I can do it.   Most of the time I can fix the paper jams, most of the time I can figure out the problems, and once in a while I get lucky and I can make it work with a little prayer and some divine intervention!

There's always something fun going on in Kindergarten!  This day was no exception!

Hope your day is just as much fun and all your copier problems can be easily fixed!

Sunday Smorgasbord Linky Randomness

What a great 4th of July!  I hope you enjoyed the holiday!  It's fun to watch fireworks and even more fun to watch them from the deck at home!

Here's a little picture of my sweetie dog!  This is the real life model for the clip art picture on this blog!
My sweet little Gigi is an 8 year old girl that we've had for about 6 years!  Spoiled?  Completely!
Whenever I've been out of the house and come back home, she cries and cries until she gets a treat!  Spoiled, just plain spoiled!  I just love that girl!

Finally, I have been looking for a really good homemade vegan brownie and I think this may be the one! Its from Doron Petersan's book, Sticky Fingers' Sweets.  These are quite yummy!  I don't make these kinds of treats often, but the fam has been asking for "something chocolate!"

So check out this old school Corelle plate!  New dishes are on the way, but there's some sentimental value to these!  I do love Corelle!  It's survived my everyday use and 2 kids!  Love it!

I hope you're doing just exactly what you love to do today, tomorrow and every single day after that!
Have a great day!
