January's Jumping!

Hey!  It's good to be back!  This week we're reading "The Mitten" by Jan Brett!  We're working on retelling the story, sequencing and also talking about the characters in this great story! At the end of the week we'll do a story comparison with "The Hat" by Jan Brett!

It's getting close Report Card time!  Over the next few weeks we'll be assessing in Reading, Math and Writing!  This week I'll be joining the Teacher Pay Teacher website!  I'm working on some great activities to post!

Leap and Twirl Gingerbread Girl!

This week in Room A-1 we're going to try and catch that Gingerbread Girl!  I love the story of the
Gingerbread Girl!  She's an independent little cookie who knows how to handle that fox!
What a great story!

We're going to do a Venn diagram to compare and contrast the Gingerbread Man and the Gingerbread Girl!

Kimmie's Cooking in Kindergarten!

This week, we read the story, "Stone Soup" and talked all about the story and the idea of sharing!  All the boys and girls brought in a something to share and we put it all in the crockpot and made the most delicious veggie soup ever!  Even the most finicky eaters liked it!  We also made homemade butter to spread on bread so that we could eat it with our soup!  The kiddies had a little taste of how much work it takes to create butter from whipping cream!  Their arms were so tired from all the shaking!  It was delicious!
